Day 1: SICILY
Arrival at Catania airport. Private transfer to Messina. Boarding at the port of Milazzo. Navigation route to the Aeolian Islands.
Day 2: STROMBOLI & STROMBOLICCHIO
Arriving very early in Stromboli, one of the most fascinating islands in the Mediterranean off the north coast of Sicily, where you can admire the volcanic explosions of Mount Stromboli, frequently active with jet hot lapilli up to great heights that light up the sky with red. Visit of Strombolicchio island, a remnant of the original volcano that formed Stromboli, with a lighthouse on its summit.
Day 3: PANAREA
Stop and swim at the famous bay of Calajunco. Opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the island at night. Enjoy and experience the night life at “Raya Club”.
Day 4: SALINA
Salina is renowned for being the setting for the film “Il Postino” with the famous actor Massimo Troisi, and for the production of Malvasia white wine. Wine tasting included.
Day 5: VULCANO
According to legend, the Romans believed that Vulcano was the chimney to the god Vulcan’s workshop. The earthquakes that either preceded or accompanied the explosions of ash were believed to be Vulcan making weapons for Mars and his armies to wage war. If you climb to the summit of the main volcano you will experience a truly breathtaking panorama of all the Islands. You can peer down into an active crater and see (and smell) the fuming sulphur gases unique to this region. The island is also known for its therapeutic mud baths and hot springs, and its black beaches and steaming landscape (Note: It is recommended not to wear clothing with bright silver objects, which can come in contact with the sludge and can be oxidized and cannot be recovered).
Day 6: LIPARI
Opportunity to swim in the beautiful waters of the island and/or take an on shore excursion to shop along the pedestrian promenade with its characteristic narrow streets. Along the road you can still see the piers used by ships to load the ore extracted from the porous Mount Pilate. This mineral dominates the landscape of two beautiful beaches, first Papesca, where there are still ruins of the mining infrastructure, and the white beach, a spectacular stretch of pumice that ends in a turquoise sea. Leave at sunset to Tropea, 3 hours of navigation. Arrival and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 7: TROPEA – SCILLA
Visit Tropea. Afternoon transfer to the port. Board the sailboat and continue south along the suggestive Tyrrenian coast until Scilla. Visit the picturesque fisherman’s neighborhood of Chianalea and dinner. Overnight.
Day 8: SCILLA – MESSINA – TAORMINA
Return to the Port of Messina, transfer to Taormina, check-in at the Hotel and free time. Overnight.
