Day 1: Venice – 2 nights
Arrival at international airport Marco Polo. Welcome by your tour escort. Transfer to the dock and boarding on water taxi with destination hotel located downtown on the Grand Canal. Visitors spending one day in Venice Should take in Piazza San Marco. You would need another day or two to get round the Academy, the Education (Schools) and the churches, which house many of the city’s treasures. Orientation tour nearby your hotel given by your tour escort. Rest of day free. Dinner in a traditional local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 2: Venice
After breakfast, meet your tour director and take a cruise to the Island of Murano.
You will enjoy a nice cruise along the Venetian Lagoon. Visit a Murano glass blowing factory including a demonstration work where you will see how they make unique glass objects. Continue by boat to Venice, meet you local guide for a walking tour of the city. Visit Piazza San Marco, St Mark Basilica, the Campanile and the Doge’s Palace. Conclude the tour with a gondola serenade. Rest of day at leisure. (B)
Day 3: Verona – Milano – 3 nights
Morning transfer to Milan with stop on route to visit Romeo and Giulietta’s Town, Verona.
Enjoy the beautiful city center, visit the famous Arena, a roman amphitheatre, Piazza delle Erbe and finally reach Giulietta’s house. Light lunch included at local trattoria.Continue to Milan. Orientation tour of the city.
Rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy shopping at the famous “Quadrilatero della Moda,” considered a must for all visitors since Milan has been called the Fashion Capital of Italy. (B, L)
Day 4: Milan
Visit to the Castello Sforzesco, then walk to Piazza Duomo. Conclude your tour with a visit to La Scala Opera House, the majestic Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.
Enjoy the Milanese Happy our at one of its best cocktail bar or Hotel roof terraces. Dinner at local traditional restaurant suggested, try the very best risotto alla Milanese with ossobuco, and other gourmet dishes of haute-cuisine. (B)
Day 5: Milan – Lake Como
After breakfast at the hotel you’ll experience one of the highlights of your vacation, Bellagio, on Lake Como. Meet your driver and take a ride to the magnificent lake with its memorable views, you will visit the charming resort of Bellagio with its graceful lakeside promenades where you’ll have free time for lunch or just wandering. Return to Milan in the afternoon. (B)
Day 6: Milan – Parma – Rapallo – 2 nights
Meet your driver and tour escort for your transfer to your Hotel in Rapallo.
On route stop in Parma, the home of Parmiggiano Reggiano cheese and the cured Prosciutto di Parma, explore the “food valley” and taste and learn about all the techniques & traditions of making Parmiggiano Reggiano cheese. Lunch in Parma.
Continue to the Tyrrenian coast and arrive in the beautiful hamlet of Rapallo. Check-in at Hotel. Take the shuttle to Portofino. Tonight you want to enjoy a very special original pesto and fish dinner at one of local restaurants. Rest of the afternoon and evening free for dinner. (B, L)
Day 7: Cinque Terre
Today, after breakfast we will leave Rapallo for an excursion to the Cinque Terre.
Enjoy the beauties of these 5 hamlets. Arrival in Rio Maggiore. Here, after a short walk to the Cala dei Pescatori, small port, you will take a boat that will take you the next village. Walk along the main rod where you will experience the authentic life of a fishermen’s small village. Suggested lunch in Vernazza at Belforte local traditional restaurant, try Spaghetti alla Bruno and any other suggestions will be given to you by Michela.
Continue by boat to Monterosso al Mare, enjoy a walk along the promenade before you get to the train station and board the train at 2.55pm to Rapallo (38min). Enjoy one of the most beautiful promenade of the Riviera. (B)
Day 8: Rapallo – Pisa – Florence – 2 nights
Departure for your transfer to your Hotel in Florence. On Route stop in Pisa.
Visit at the famous leaning tower that stands proudly on Piazza Campo dei Miracoli (Miracles Field). Continue to Florence, the city of the Renaissance. Orientation tour through the center with a discussion of the medieval settlement as you arrive at Piazza della Signoria, the secular square filled with Renaissance Palazzi including the masterful Palazzo Vecchio. Finish your tour at Santa Croce Square, where you can shop for all things made in leather and than a stroll to the Ponte Vecchio, filled with artisan jewelry shops. Evening at leisure in Florence. Day 9: Florence -> Greve in Chianti with dinner at Wine estate
Meet your local guide at your hotel to start your tour of Florence’s glorious history. Visit at the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s masterpiece, The David. Continue to the Duomo. Time at leisure for shopping and light lunch.
At 3.30pm than, meet your driver and your Tour Director at your hotel and drive on the “Strada del Vino” (road of the wine), the famous Chiantigiana, to Greve in Chianti, you will be in a unique landscape surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and oak forests. As the headquarters for the Gallo Nero, Chianti’s wine consortium, Greve’s interesting center comes alive with shops showcasing the works of local artisans. Tour of a winery estate in the Chianti area (Wine tasting and dinner included). (B)
Day 10: Florence -> Ancient Rome – 2 nights
Meet your driver at your hotel and be ready for your transfer to Rome. Arrive in Rome and lunch. Visit to the site of Ancient Rome for a guided visit of the Roman Forum, the Coliseum and the Capitoline Hill. Perhaps after settling in to your hotel you might enjoy a walk to the nearby Spanish Steps. As a meeting place since the 16th century, the Baroque ornament of the Spanish Steps and the Piazza before them is laid out in a beautiful public space to promote interaction and perhaps the best people-watching locale in Italy. Have a seat on the steps and take in the wonderful scene. Enjoy dinner out in Transtevere suggested. (B)
Day 11: Rome – & Vatican City
In the morning meet driver at your hotel for your transfer to Vatican City, for a guided tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of Saint Peter.
After the tour time at leisure for a walk of Rome’s famous piazzas. You might want to start at the world-famous Trevi Fountain for your coin toss into its waters to ensure a return to Rome, according to traditional legend. From the Trevi, it’s a short walk to one of Rome’s loveliest piazzas highlighted by the city’s best-preserved ancient building, the Pantheon. Finish your walk at Piazza Navona, a chariot racetrack during ancient times, now a large oval piazza showcasing some of artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s greatest works. Time to explore the fashion avenues of Rome and the atmosphere of the Roman lifestyle.
At 6.30pm Meet at the Hotel and dinner transfer to a famous restaurant show, where you will be amused by tenors and live music while dining (B, D)
